Kalemegdan Fortress is one of the most impressive landmarks in Belgrade, and it looks even more spectacular when viewed from the river. A river cruise along the Danube or Sava provides a unique perspective of the fortress, with its imposing walls and towers rising up from the greenery of Kalemegdan Park.

The fortress dates back to the 2nd century AD and has been an important military stronghold throughout the centuries. Today, it is a beautiful park that offers stunning views of the city and the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers.

From the river, visitors can see the strategic location of the fortress, which sits at the confluence of the Danube and Sava rivers, and protected the city from invasions and attacks for centuries. The fortress walls stretch along the riverbank, and visitors can admire the various gates and towers, including the iconic Clock Tower and the Nebojša Tower.

The fortress itself, is home to several monuments, sculptures, as well as a network of walking paths that wind through the trees and gardens.
